How to Enhance Large Outdoor Events

Almost everyone enjoys all of the large outdoor events that happen during the summer months. What’s not to love? From concerts and parades to wine festivals and Shakespeare in the Park, there’s generally something for everyone. Like most everything, though, events can always be improved upon. Here are a couple of ideas about how to enhance your participant experiences.

Provide Live Video Coverage

Some events do this already, concerts in particular. If you don’t, you might want to take a few minutes to consider whether or not outdoor led video screens would improve your event. Participants sitting far from the stage can still see what’s happening.

Add Food Trucks

Food booths have been a staple for large events for decades, and it’s never a wrong decision to add a pizza booth and beer garden. However, if you could add a couple of food trucks instead it could significantly impact the overall ambiance of your event. It’s also much easier for your vendors to set up.

Shade

It might not always be possible, but if you’re hosting a large event in the summer you might try to ensure you have some shade available. Shade tents probably aren’t feasible for large events, but you might want to consider adding large shade sails to give people a respite from the glaring sun.

Provide Drinking Water

The most important thing you can do to ensure everyone’s health and safety is to provide fresh drinking water. On hot summer days, you want people to stay hydrated. You can easily rent portable drinking stations. You can also encourage people to bring their own bottles and have water bottle filling stations throughout your event. If you’re not providing cups, you might consider selling water bottles.

Also, make sure that all of your food vendors have plenty of bottled water available for purchase. What’s not to love?
